Tr.Li.Ac. is a new band driven by improvisation, emerging from idioms in neo soul, hip hop, and jazz. The name of the band is an acronym for “Trust, Listen, Action,” the main practice that drives the band and their performances. Starting from a simple 2 to 4 bar loop of a standard or record, the band transforms the music and makes it their own, sometimes staying within it, sometimes making other creative transformations in the moment. Much like how a DJ conducts their set, their performances put an emphasis on keeping the music fluid and open to the moment’s spontaneous composition.
